I wish I'd had the opportunity to read all three books of this trilogy back to back. By the time this one was published, 3 years or more had passed since I'd read this first book, and I'd forgotten a lot of the details. A little recap would have helped, since the storylines of books 1&2 are set in different time periods and follow different characters, all of which converge in Winter Wood. The conclusion feels satisfying and true to the story but leaves enough mystery to let my imagination work a bit tying up loose ends.Oh yeah, one more thing. The new cover art is a complete disappointment. The first two books had beautiful cover art, setting them apart from the glut of fairy stories out there.
