What It Is Like to Go to War

What It is Like to Go to War - Karl Marlantes This is no slapdash follow-up to a bestseller; it is a thoughtful, nuanced treatise written by an eloquent, passionate author well versed in his topic. This is not a partisan political book (I honestly have no idea what party Marlantes might align himself with, if any), but a call to action for all of us to think about they way we treat our soldiers, why we send them off to war, and how they are reintegrated after their terms of service end. Like any great book, it provided me with a window on an unfamiliar world and a greater understanding of my fellow man.
